AND HE SAID TO THEM, "WHY DO YOU SEEK ME? DID YOU NOT KNOW THAT I MUST BE ABOUT MY FAMILY BUSINESS?"LUKE 2:49

What did Jesus mean when he said he was about his Father’s business? Was he talking about a profession or trade? Surely not. Some translations use the words”house” or “things” instead of “business”. In other words, Jesus is saying, “Wherever the Father is, that’s where I’ll be. Whatever He’s doing, I’m doing.”

Business can be defined as “serious activity requiring time and effort and usually the avoidance of distractions.”

So, what is the business of God? The answer isn’t found in a word. It’s found in His action. The business of God is His pursuit of and desire to be with His people.

That’s you.

That’s me.

That’s everyone else.

Why? Because of His great love for us.

This is a Family Business. Sharing the message of the Father’s business was passed down to the Son, who passed it down to us.
